Looking Back on 2006...

Well, the start of 2006 for me is like...

Yeah!!! SPM can kiss my ass and I have something like a 6 months holiday!!!

Then I started working at a hardware store during the Chinese New Year Promotion...

Oh yeah! The SPM results day... Hmmm... Meeting of friends that you'd never see during your bumming off days...

And... Helped my dad with the renovation of the house, where as the whole car porch is tiled and extended the length of it... Added a roof over the extension and now works as a nursery for plants and flowers...

Seen plenty of weirdos and even came in contact with one... -.-"

Went to Uniten for my Foundations in Civil Engineering...

Seen lecturers that said, "If you don't understand this chapter, just pray that it doesn't come out in the finals... "

Went back home after the first semester...

Came back here for the second, spent a lonely Christmas and ain't know what I'm gonna do for my New Year countdown... Sianz...

Photo Post... Photographs that I never posted...

Hahaz... Since its coming to the end of 2006, why not post something that you'd think that you forgotten about?

Well, these are the pics that I took that I thought I deleted or just left behind at the back of the hard drive...

So, here goes...

Ah~ The Uni's Chinese Society freshie camp where you'd get yourself tied up... To a banana... -.-"

2nd Sem hell...

Yeah... The second semester of my studies has started at the most crappy time ever, which is on December... Yeah... I'll kill for it to have it started on Jan, like most of the Uni here..

And most of the lecturers I have are... -.-" lets not go there...

Good impression on the first day? Heck! Why don't you take an MC on the first day of class and let the students wait for half an hour. Tutorials? Heck! My first tutorial the lecturer was gone wind and that was on the day which I have only one class for that whole day!!! And the class started at 8 am in the morning!

Now, lets test how fast students can run from the the east side of the campus to the west part! It is a good 2-3km from the tip of the west campus to the east side... -.-"

Now... Ever meet Mr. Voon number two??? For those that don't know him... He was my teacher for History and Moral Ed when I was in form 5. He lets us know crap. Something that can be taught in 15 minutes will take him an hour... Partly because he drags the topic that somehow on the offside links to his past, which we don't care cause it doesn't have anything to do with the class. Well, my computer ed class lecturer is like that... But... He targets people... Namely me.. Crap...

Ok... Now about my rant when I got back to KL..

Airasia have met a new low at being on time... My flight was delayed for 5 hrs... The worst part is that my phone's battery wont last if i played with it... Haiz.. Reached KL at 3 am... Fuck! I'm supposed to reach there at 10 pm man!!!

Ah... Will soon post what happened this year and some pics that I never posted.. Hehe..

Saturday, December 09, 2006

Ah~... Just a few hours before I leave home.. Again...

Ain't nothing much to say, except maybe that it has been an "eventful" week.
Things happen, which sometimes I hoped that it didn't...
Sigh...

Heavy hearted just to leave home. Thinking that I'll have to leave my mums cooking, my friends, and the pace that life goes on here...

Well, it seems that it is back to KL until Chinese New Year when I'll come home... Can't wait till its February...

KL... You suck my life into your pace, feels kinda reluctant to getting used to the life in KL once again after being reintroduced to the life here at home...

Hmmm... Gonna get used to eating dinner at 8 pm again... Hehe...

Saturday, December 02, 2006

Hmm....

PC or Laptop or Mac???

Hmmm...

If I were to go tower madness, the specs will be... [ Budget RM 3500 ]

Option A

Intel E6400 @ 2.13GHz
Gigabyte P965 DS3
NVIDIA 7600 GS
1 GB RAM
160 GB HDD

OR

Option B

Intel E6300 @ 1.83GHz
Gigabyte P965 S3
NVIDIA 7600 GT
512 MB x2 Dual Channel @ 533MHz with 4-4-4-10 timings
160 GB HDD

When it will all add up to RM3500 ( at time of post) when you include other things...

Option A has a higher overclocking potential because the motherboard and processor are fun to overclock. While Option B offers more than average gaming performance right from the start... Hmm... OS... hehehehe... experiment with Jobbs...

Or should I get a notebook??

With Dell 6400 configured to my likings, it cost up to RM 3932.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Specs:

Intel T5600 @ 1.83 GHz
ATI Mobility X1400
512 MB x2 RAM with no Dual Channel...
80GB HDD @ 5400 rpm... (so sad...)

Performance wise?? Crap compared with my Option A..

Or get a HP at RM5699

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Specs:

Intel T5600 @ 1.83GHz
NVidia Go 7400
512 MB RAM.
80GB HDD @5400 rpm (yikes!!! )

Kinda a rip off don't you think compared with Dell??

All these crap means I'd rather get an iMac at the low-low price of RM3999... Though I wont be able to carry it to Starbucks, but hey, at least carrying it back home wont be much trouble??? Hmmm....

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

[Gotta say, looks rather attractive... ]

Specs:

Intel T5600 @ 1.83 GHz
ATI Radeon X1600
512MB RAM
160GB HDD @ 7200 rpm

I'll bet that the graphics of the games that goes on this machine will be spectacular since its a Mac... It'll beat all the other laptops hands down. Though it would get its butt kick by my Option A, its a beauty that don't hum loudly compared to other PCs... Hmm... Thinking...

All Intel Core 2 Duo processors you say? Well, for desktops, I wont see any other choice unless someone gets me the spanking brand new AMD 4X4 platform that has two Dual Core chips on one motherboard... An FX-70 would do just nice... Though it would need a 800-1000W power supply, a RM 1500 motherboard and ear muffs just so that you don't loose your hearing...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

All things aside, I just go with a 'PC', that is either Option A or Option B.

Why?

- Its RM500 cheaper.

- Runs better in almost everything even though you wont be running with it.

- I'm able to upgrade the graphics card when the price of the DirectX 10 GPU falls and Bill Gates kill himself and Microsoft celebrates by giving us free Windows Vista OS and Office 2007.

- I can overclock the damn thing, so that in five years I'm still able to run CAD with it.

- At least I'll have a keyboard to hit enemies with.

- I don't have to be forced to bring my laptop ( if that were my option ) to group presentation with the risk of virulent thumb drives.

- NFS Carbon!!!

- F.E.A.R.!!!

- By the time I get to Lowyat to talk about price, I'll be able to not compromise and get Option C [hopefully... ]

Option C

Intel E6400 @ 2.13GHz
Gigabyte P965 DS3
NVIDIA 7600 GT
512 MB x2 Dual Channel RAM setup with 4-4-4-10 timings
160 GB HDD

Ngehehe...

If I got extra RM500 laying around, I'll get the iMac... Its compact, has reasonable performance and is by far better than any other laptops. Now all I have to do is find a power port every time I visit Starbucks??!! Hmmm... Crap...

Choices...

Sorry for boring you all... muhahahaz...

He stumbled upon something. It has it's brilliance, though not of the one that he reflects, but could at least relate to.

Yes, it was something that he thought that he lost about a year ago. But, it didn't matter at the time that he lost it, even it may seem important to him; at that time, he was readily to leave it be as it slowly disappear...

Touching it brought back memories, and of it's past that he'd never known, until it told him. But, as he landed his hands on the surface, it has brought pain to his heart, clenching it tightly, as if it now burdens his livelihood and his future.

Thinking that he can't discard it, feeling at a loss no matter which he wishes to do, he talked to it. Listened to it. See it in another light.

His face changed, something that has an expression that he thought that he would never use on such an lost artifact. It may seem that he could suddenly rotate during the middle of the night, changing it's orbit, showing himself again.

Talking to it was the simple part, once 'he' appeared from within. Shining through it, seeing its depth, finding a way to resolve the only remaining thing that is now hurting, even when you would think that it should feel good.

"18 moons. Your heart has that time, to feel it's shackles loosen. The rest is up to you... " it says.

Paths crossed. Departed. But, still, it feels tight.

Tivilion Fun???

yea... went to Trivilion yesterday night... When I drove there.... Damn it! it was jammed packed with cars that are parked at the side... Soon, the bass of the giant stage starts to invade the in-car stereo... Crap!!! Luckily I was able to find a parking spot that is not too far from the action and where I'm supposed to meet with my friends...

Yeah... There was this giant stage where people Kuching folks gather to watch the live performance of some local musicians and bands. Those that I saw was Disagree, Lim Yee Chung... And donno liaw... Hahahaz... Since I wasn't there to see the whole live performance sponsored by DiGi... It was DiGi's street blast and it blast the streets of Kuching causing traffic disturbance around the Trivilion area...

Pics right? Forgive the low quality of my pics since it was taken from a phone...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[The Main Stage... ]

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[the stage from the side... Where u can see the guy singing??]

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[Perhaps not...]

The side dish to the street blast includes blasting your car with Sony Xplode... Yup... Get to see a pimped out car that has only 1 seat behind so that you can have your own theater rolling...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
["wish I had that ride..."]

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[only 1 backseat... There'll be no back seat driving from here... Unless your digging out the PS2..]

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[OMG!!! A hole at the backseat?? I wonder what's that for??? Passing explosive wind??? ]

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[The Throne... ]

[Shinny hole.. It glows... Ahhhh... hahaz... ]

St. Thom...VS my dorm??

Yeah... St. Thomas is school which has it all... From kindergarten to Form 6.. And the school.... Hell a lot better than when I'm in my form 5. Damn it! It even looks better than my University... Well, in some ways, if you are not looking at the old buildings of St Thom...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[ Can relax here, look at mirror or something??!! ]

Well, since I almost never post about my apartment, how bout some pics of it???

Be afraid... Be very afraid...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[I think something came in...]

Yeah.. The whole apartment can look scary at night... Like some sort of Japanese Horror Movie cut out... The Dorm?? Nah.. I don't know since I didn't watch that movie...

Ok... We had this special treatment in our apartment, since we have the VIP power to it..

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[ VIP... That's our room number..]

If you were to say the number of our apartment, people would still want you to point to the direction to go through the maze just to see my apartment. But, if you just say VIP room, they all go: OH!!! That room ar???!!

Heck, even the girls over at the Girls Dorm know about it..

Well, it was 'sad' to leave this VIP room that there was even a tribute to it... He-he..

Back home...

Finally got my sis's old comp working

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Its only a 900MHz processor, has no graphics card, 80 gig hard drive and running of 256mb of RAM... but...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

its hell of alot better than a 166MHz processor that has 3 gigs and 32Mb of RAM and still runs win98...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, while I was in KL, I've found a new trend in restaurants...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[Gasoline]
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[Dreamland Tree o something.... -.-]
Yeah, despite the odd names that they give...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
They all wanna have you sitting on the floor...
There are two extremes to the types of retaurants....
One is the laid back, relaxing type...
[Dreamland Tree or Tree Dream???? -.- ]
While the other gonna have your heart thumping along with the bass...
[Gasoline]
But you all have to sit on the floor...
So guys with hairy legs, wear jeans...
Girls... Ahem... [wakakakaka]
Anyway... Food is so so... But, better than the normal food you get at food courts and I'm getting sick of those... Damn sick...
Drinks.... Ahahahaz... They have the starbucks price all over it... Their caffiene drinks are ok... [gasoline]
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[mochacha?? huh? wad kind of name was that for something we all know as mocha??? ]
So. is it a well worth dinning experience??
Well, if you are with a group of friends who don't mind getting on the floor and dine and maybe get ready for some games that are offered on Gasoline [board games] or maybe have your own solo on the piano or guitar...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Its casual at best.. Feels kinda like home where there are less rules eventhough there are none printed...
天, に...
天, ten.
means SKY if you were to directly translate it from either chinese or japanese.
I prefer to use the meaning of heaven. The last dream lost is now replaced with heaven. A nirvana I might add, something that is different from christian belief and that of the Buddhism. I just like a place that ends all and new beginings be called heaven.
Is this the new begining?
Just wait and see...
に, ni
2, two. Secondary, after ONE, 1. Yeah. Its the second one that I've created while the first is still in my head, not willing to let it out, into this dangerous world that seems to be killing it, eventhought it was just looking through the window, viewing the sun that shines so brightly and melting it, and the nights so cold that cracks the edges of the clouds...
Will I seek my salvation in this newly created world? Or would it be just a self-comforting world that means nothing unless I crave for something that is plain stupid while being unatainable, no matter how hard I try...
My ignorance is present in this new world.
Forgive me.
Will it be sufficient for me to become anew, while still fearing the same thing?
Scared.
Frail against such an idea.
While showing me the light of hope that bears half of the name that is the darkness??
Will a wizard's staff shine through with its cold light, showing the holes that lies on the path beneath me, while falling down means never to escape the dark knights of fear...
Will it be me that learn the trade of a magician or will be a mage that lends me a hand?
Who will show up behind the veil of darkness?
Myself? or...
Sorry for boring you all with all these mindless chatter of my head that seams to be conflicting over some minor problem. Thanks for paying attention anyway; unless you've already scrolled to the bottom of the page.. Hahaz..
Second Heaven??
Yup, will include the japanese characters soon, cause i'm now blogging using a MAC..
Second Heaven, I've forsaken my dream, for it betrayed me.
Will I lay there and wait for something to happen in this safe world, newly made...
Yeah... I had a bad dream... A nightmare, and I'm not willing to share it yet... It was so ridiculus that I never expected it, in a place that I willing lay my hat.
Yume? Warui no ka?
Damn. It sucks hell and still I'm afraid to go in.
When will I???
I've never wish that it would happen and still there's no news and I fear that it will come true. Just let it be a fluke.. I hope...
And it begins.. Something like my first post... ~~
Week in Review...
Something that rarely happens to my Uni is that to clean the water-feature in the campus... Its so dirty that you cant see the bottom of the very shallow pool and sometimes on hot days u may even smell the sewer leaking off the pool that has the combined area of about 700-800m^2... That's alot... Of surface and 'nice' smell coming off it...
For the before and after process... The stinking pool....
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[When the water is half-drained, you start to see this... ]
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[And when you move closer to where there is no water anymore, you'll thought that the whole pool is so freaking deep and is actually a drain that is used by the University when the lecturers go 'pu-pu'... Ahahahaz... ]
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[Wah Pia... Really look like it oh... ]
By now you should know that this post is not for the weak stomached... And so is this blog... He-he...
And now for the after part of the cleaning the freaking smelly and dirty water-feature of this campus...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[Wah... The bottom look like this ar??? So clean... Want to jump in... ]
The whole cleanning process took them like one whole week to drain and water pressure-pump to clean the freaking dirt off the pool... If I'm not wrong, there's 6 of these pools...
One thing that doesn't get me is that the dirt is migrated to the 'tasik' or Lake that the Uni so like to promote...
-.-"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Rainy nights are here to stay these few weeks near this campus...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Feels calm, when you open the windows just enough so that you can feel the cool breeze to blow into the room and not enough for the keyboard to get wet from the rain...

And you start to turn on something intrumental, like KennyG...

You off the lights... But, the surrounding is still bright enough for you to look at your feet...

Your eyes starts to doze off a little...

You lay on the bed...

Eyes closed...

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Damn... Locked the main door and housemate needs to come in...

Hahahaz...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyway, what does this mean???
-Untitled-
Life in this particular Uni sucks...
Reasons:
1. Muslims puasa we non-Muslims oso puasa coz the cafeteria are closed.
2. Tests on weekends. I want my weekends where I can sleep all day and online all day where I can relax from those giant 100 pounds books gaining on me... Like today... There's a calculus test tomorrow where as I spent my whole Friday and today (hopefully) studying...
3. Lecturers that 'teach' very well... With interesting comments on each topic, that is.. " If you don't understand, nevermind... Just hope that it doesn't come out on the finals.."
4. Internet??? Ahahahaz... Just pray that the university's server is up just so that you can connect to the internet at 10mbps where as the actual connection speed is slower than a 56k modem... Download a song? Lets say, 1.4mb (podcast)... Its half an hour at 600 bytes per second. Bytes I tell ya... o.6kb, 0.0006mb... The 56k modem I use at home, the slowest I've gone was 1.4kb/sec.. WTF??!!
Well, there are somethings that I'm grateful of.. But.. I think that none of it has to do with this Uni though.. Its just that the crap that the Uni throws at me just made me grateful of the things back home that made me a little more prepared here... A little is better than nothing, right???
My Add-Math tuition teacher. I know that the exercise thatyou give are harder than SPM papers... That is great considering that the calculus course here is hard... Differentiation, Chain Rule, Implicit Differentiation, Mean Value Theorem.. Without the foundations of doing the exercise that I could blow off my whole weekend off just by doing 1 topic's questions, I think I'll die on tomorrow's paper.. [wish me luck!!]
And... Finally I can type with both hands!!! Yeah!!!
A Kid Once Again??!!
If I were to take a poll, I bet that a good 90% would say that they wish that they could turn back time and go back to Form 4/5 and another good 15% would wish that they were a little younger... Like maybe primary school aged?? No worries and what not...
Well, since I'm not smart enough to create a time machine, perhaps the best that I can do is to remember the time that reminds me of the past the most... That is... losing part of your skin...
Yeah… It reminds me of the time when I was a kid and always falling down, leaving my skin on the ground and blood in the dirt… Ah… Memories… But not that of the pain that I’ve gone through, but the endless process of cleaning the wound and putting medicine on it… Damn! It stings!!! And not to forget about the ‘pantang’ on the wondrous food that you can’t eat when you’ve got that scab…
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
And let’s not forget about the pus that may be just around the corner when you get your wounds a little wet accidentally and listening to your parents saying:” well, that’s gonna leave a scar,” when they use a tweezers to take of the scab just to get to the fresh skin bellow to clean off the pus.
Fresh skin is always pink, and you can sometime see the small blood capillaries bellow it, and just when you thought that it would hurt when you touch it, your body already put you in ‘prepare to die mode’… Hey, it ain’t so bad… Until the hydrogen peroxide or some mentholated Chinese medicine comes in to spoil your good time… Dang!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
With all that going on, you might even need to wait for few weeks before you are scab-less and no more have the tendency to draw your arm back as you would when you touch an iron, or feel a non-existing twinge that gets into your mind when someone touches your leg…
Hmm… Sianz hor… Getting injured…
Trip to Penang
Ah Penang... Praise the hols...[eventhough it was already over...]
The trip there was 'amazing'... Why? ever tried to defy the laws of gravity by sitting on a vehicle that turns a corner at 80km/h while having one of the highest centre on gravity on the road? Yup! A double-decker bus averaging 110km/h with the company logo of the most frequent 'flier' in the Malaysian highway.. Also the 'safest' way to get to from one state to another..That is if you consider from the human form to the spirit form.. Hahaz... [BTW, the company name is KoNSorT10M or something..]
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Ok.. The the trip there was almost peril-less, given the fact that a kind police officer made sure that the bus driver doesn't send us to meet our ancestors before we have grandkids. Yeah.. He stopped the bus for speeding.. Hahahaz...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The next day was off to the famous island to which was the first point the British manaced in the administration of the Malayan Lands.. Penang Island...
Drove through the bridge..
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
And saw this...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Islands.. Yup, bet they will be perfect spots for exploring and romantic getaways or something of that sort..
So I asked my friend..
Nemu-iii: Is there any beach around here?
J: Yeah.. But in this part, they're all muddy..And smells like shit..
Well, too bad.. Hahaz
Penang Island is famous for it Gurney Drive which I guess is trying to look like Orchard Road with the mix of Kuching's Riverside and Miri's Boulevard Escape [Correct my spelling if I'm wrong...] where the high-class shopping area mix with the seaside..
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Where's this? High-rised apartments and beautiful landscape.. I thought that I was in Singapore..
And sometimes the good'ol Victorian-styled buildings made the the Island look more and more like Singapore, if you ignore the occasional trash that you stepped on.. Hahaz
Well, the shopping center, Gurney Plaza is such a great place to window shop.. [Like in Singapore..] and see the wonderful sights of taiwanese artist wanabees [sorry, I don't listen to chinese songs..]
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The most amazing part of Penang shopping centers are the layout of shops...
For example...
The combination of three shops that are aligned to each other, side by side...
1. The place you bring your girlfriend to, or the place you get your girlfriend's gift...
